At a meeting of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov outlined goals for the nation’s fuel and energy sector. He commented that the growth of the oil and gas sector, with its plentiful energy resources, and the delivery of natural gas to global markets, as well as the production of high-grade products that meet international standards, are integral parts of the nation’s energy strategy.
The leader of Turkmenistan gave the building of delayed coking and tar deasphalting facilities at the Turkmenbashi oil refinery as an example, which offers the possibility of comprehensive, waste-free processing of crude oil.
The President of Turkmenistan further highlighted the need to finish the construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline, draw in foreign investment for the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea, develop new technologies and modernize technical drilling capabilities, extend the boundaries of deep processing of hydrocarbons, and collaborate with leading foreign companies to implement digital technologies and conduct geological surveys.
