Optimization of Cargo Transportation between Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan

A virtual meeting was held between the expert working groups of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan to discuss fees imposed on international road transport between the two countries. The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan reported that the main focus was on streamlining fees for carriers involved in international cargo transportation. The possibility of expediting the signing of an intergovernmental agreement to simplify visa procedures for individuals participating in international cargo transportation between the two countries was also explored.
The Turkmen side expressed interest in learning from Uzbekistan’s experience in implementing the “E-permit” system, which allows for real-time electronic exchange of permit forms.
