Notaries are key players in the battle against corruption

Samarkand hosted two international conferences for notaries. The participants included the President of the International Notarial Cooperation Commission of the International Union of Notaries and chairmen of notarial chambers from around forty countries.

The initial conference, “Combating money laundering in the notary sector”, was organized by the Notary Chamber of Uzbekistan and the International Notarial Cooperation Commission. Richard Bock, the President of the Commission, was the moderator.

The Minister of Justice of Uzbekistan, A. Tashkulov, gave a speech about the reforms that have been instituted in the notary sector in Uzbekistan and discussed future plans.

Reports on the topic were presented by representatives from Senegal, the UK, Croatia, Spain, Austria, Argentina, Kazakhstan, and other countries.

The second part of the event saw memorandums of cooperation being signed between the Notary Chamber of Uzbekistan, the Notaries Union of Türkiye, the notary chambers of Hungary and Mongolia, and the next steps were identified.

The President of the International Notarial Cooperation Commission of the International Union of Notaries Richard Bock, and the President of the International Union of Notaries Cristina Armella were presented with the “For contribution to the notarial sector” badge, set up by the Notary Chamber of Uzbekistan.
