Uzbekistan and Korea Form New Partnership in Labor Relations

, reported that the meeting resulted in the establishment of a new level of labor relations between Uzbekistan and Korea.

Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Lee Jung Sik, Minister of Employment and Labour of the Republic of Korea, recently held a meeting to explore ways to bolster labor migration, safeguard labor and social rights, and execute joint projects to involve migrants in businesses and labor activities.

As approximately 600,000 young people enter the Uzbekistan labor market every year, the two parties discussed implementing joint projects to educate and equip them with vocational training. The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) was also discussed, which provides assistance in training professions and improving the competitiveness of workers in the labor market.

The participants of the meeting came to an understanding to create a plan of action to gradually carry out the memorandum, including joint training and exchanging statistical information and specialists. Norgul Abduraimova, UzA, reported that the meeting resulted in the establishment of a new level of labor relations between Uzbekistan and Korea.
