On Wednesday, NCSOFT Corp. revealed that their second-quarter net profit was 30.5 billion won (US$23.2 million), a decrease of 74.3% compared to the same period in the previous year.
The company declared in a regulatory filing that operating profit for the April-June period declined 71.3% year-on-year to 35.3 billion won, while sales decreased 30% to 440.2 billion won.
The earnings were lower than what analysts had estimated. According to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency, the average expectation of net profit was 38.2 billion won.
