The 19th Asian Summer Games, known as the “Little Olympics”, is set to begin today, September 23, with over 12,000 athletes from 45 countries participating in the competition. This is more than 1,000 participants compared to the games held in Indonesia in 2018.

China is sending 886 athletes to compete for medals at the continental games held at their home stadiums. The Japanese sports team is also participating with more than 1,100 athletes. North Korea, banned from international sports competitions for three years, has sent about 200 athletes to the games. India has prepared 634 athletes for the 19th Asian Games.

474 medals of the Asian Games will be played in 61 disciplines in 40 sports. The number of athletes participating in the competition is 12,417. Kazakhstan is participating with 525 athletes in 33 sports. Iran, Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Qatar, the Philippines, and Pakistan are also competing in the Games.
Uzbekistan’s sports delegation, with more than 370 athletes from 38 sports, is also participating in the Asian Games. They will compete in 32 Olympic and 6 non-Olympic sports. Uzbekistan’s sports team may not be the largest, but they are expected to be fierce contenders in many sports.
Uzbekistan has created all the conditions and facilities for its athletes to ensure new victories for the country. Uzbekistan athletes and teams will have to rely on their professionalism, skill, and tactical-technical approach to be successful in the Games.
