The event was attended by representatives from Proparco and Expertise France, as well as experts and entrepreneurs. Together, they reviewed the progress of bilateral cooperation, which focuses on supporting reforms, implementing infrastructure projects, and promoting the growth of the green economy. It was recognized that AFD plays a crucial role in improving living standards, addressing environmental and social issues, and supporting the private sector in Uzbekistan.
The consultations also highlighted the increasing trade and investment connections between Uzbekistan and the European Union. In 2024, the trade turnover between the two sides reached $6.4 billion, with a 5.2% growth. This was largely due to Uzbekistan’s effective use of the GSP+ program, which allows over 6,200 Uzbek products to access the European market. This has greatly boosted exports and strengthened the position of domestic producers within the EU.

There are currently over 1,000 European companies operating in Uzbekistan, with investment projects worth more than 30 billion euros. French expertise can serve as an additional driver of economic growth in the country, particularly through developing sectoral strategies, supporting regional development programs, and implementing reforms to strengthen the private sector.
The parties have identified key areas for future collaboration, including expanding regional partnerships, attracting more financial resources, and joint initiatives related to critical raw materials.
