At the Saint Petersburg International Gas Forum 2023, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, and the Chairman of the Board of PJSC Gazprom, Alexey Miller, held a working meeting. During the meeting, the prospects of further cooperation, particularly the issue of Russian gas supplies to Uzbekistan through Kazakhstan, were examined. It was highlighted that the “Central Asia – Center” gas pipeline system is essential in providing a stable energy supply to consumers in Uzbekistan, particularly during the autumn/winter season.
As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation in the energy complex was signed by both parties. This Memorandum outlines the collaboration in gas supply and transportation, geological exploration, and production of hydrocarbons.
