Marziya Shamsiyeva, 104 years old, is granted the “Shukhrat” medal in celebration of the 32nd Anniversary of Independence

In honor of the 32nd Anniversary of Independence, a Presidential Decree was issued to award a select group of individuals who have reached the centenary milestone with the prestigious “Shukhrat” medal. Among the recipients of this honor is 104-year-old Marziya Shamsiyeva of the Taylak district of Samarkand region. On August 31, representatives from Samarkand region’s Hokimiyat and Toyloq district paid a visit to Marziya-momo’s home and presented her with the state award and gifts.

Mrs. Shamsieva experienced the hardships of World War II before raising 8 children. Today, she lives with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandson. When asked about her longevity, Marziya-momo said, “I dedicated my whole life to work. That’s why I lived so long.” She expressed her gratitude to the President for serving the people and creating a time of happiness and joy.
