The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, along with the Presidents of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, initiated the delivery of Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan via the territory of Kazakhstan.
At the ceremony, held through videoconference, the President of Uzbekistan expressed his gratitude to the leaders of Kazakhstan and Russia for their assistance in executing this project. He also thanked the specialists who made it possible to provide gas supplies in the shortest period of time, rebuilt parts of the primary gas pipeline, modernized compressor stations, and built a new gas measuring station “Beyneu”.
It was highlighted that the launch of the Russian gas import in reverse mode is of great significance for Uzbekistan. This venture is a groundbreaking step towards ensuring the energy security of Uzbekistan, diversifying guaranteed sources of “blue fuel” supplies, providing additional amounts to meet seasonal uneven consumption, and establishing a reliable and uninterrupted supply of gas and electricity to the population.
Confidence was expressed that implementing such a large-scale project and its results would reinforce the relationship between the three countries.
