The Kyrgyz Republic is hosting the Delphic Games for the first time, an event that will be unique in its own right. All participants and guests of the Games will be welcomed by local customs, traditions, and culture. This event is taking place in accordance with the decision of the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS of May 29, 2020, and is being held under the patronage of the International Delphic Committee, located in Moscow. 2023 has been declared the Year of the Russian language as the language of interethnic communication in the CIS, which will be reflected in the event program.
The organization of the Games is being carried out by the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy, the Delphic Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic with the support of the CIS Executive Committee, the Interparliamentary Assembly of Participating States with the participation of interested authorities of Kyrgyzstan and the mayor’s office of Bishkek.
Around 600 boys and girls aged 10 to 25 years old will be competing as part of teams representing Commonwealth countries in 10 categories – piano, violin, fine arts, academic singing, solo folk singing, pop singing, folk dance, folk instruments, wind instruments, artistic crafts. The competition’s jury will include more than 30 renowned artists, professors, and doctors of art history. All laureates will be awarded medals upon the completion of the competition.
The main events of the Seventeenth Youth Delphic Games of the CIS participating states will be the opening ceremony on October 7, the closing ceremony, and a gala concert of the best creative performances of the Games laureates on October 9. Both events will take place on the stage of the Kyrgyz National Philharmonic named after Satylganov. As part of the Games, an International Conference will be held to discuss the development of the Commonwealth Youth Delphic Games.
