KT Corp. reports Q2 net profit of 432.5 billion won, up 19%

KT Corp. on Monday announced that its second-quarter net income was 432.5 billion won (US$331.8 million), a 19% increase from the same period a year prior. Operating profit for the April-June period grew 25.5% to 576.1 billion won, while sales rose 3.7% to 6.54 trillion won.

The results exceeded market expectations, with analysts predicting an average net profit of 399.4 billion won, according to a survey by Yonhap Infomax.
