SEOUL, Oct. 9 (Yonhap) — Korean Air Co. has decided to cease its flights from Incheon to Tel Aviv this week due to security concerns in relation to the rising tension between Israel and Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, according to company sources Monday.
The national air carrier has cancelled all three KE957 flights from Incheon to Tel Aviv, which usually take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, for the week.
The firm, however, is maintaining the returning KE958 flights, which bring passengers from Tel Aviv to Incheon. It will decide whether to operate the return flights after assessing the airport situation in Tel Aviv.
“Putting passenger safety first, we will be monitoring the local situation closely and make decisions regarding future flights,” a company official said.
