DUSHANBE, 19.07.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Khorug is planning to hold a scientific and practical conference about the topic of ‘Tourism Development in Tajikistan: Achievements and Challenges (Examining the Experience of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region)’.
The conference will cover topics such as the priorities of tourism in the area, therapeutic waters, development factors, strengthening human resources, staffing and productive employment, historical and cultural sites — presentation of the region, the development of mountain hunting tourism, the role of civil society organizations in tourism development and ways to improve the quality of services in Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region.
The Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region is one of the most attractive tourist destinations and has gained worldwide attention due to its rivers, lakes, mountains and unique scenery. The presence of historical and healing spots, like Sarez Lake, Garmchashma, Avj, Yamchun, Jelondeh, Bibi Fotima Zuhro, the highest mountain range in the world and the glaciers of the Pamirs, contributes to the growth of tourism in the region.
