Khatlon Region of Tajikistan and Leningrad Region of Russia to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 26.06.2025 (NIAT Khovar) – The Chairman of Khatlon Region in Tajikistan, Davlatali Said, and the Governor of Leningrad Region in Russia, Alexander Drozdenko, met to discuss expanding industrial cooperation and exchanging experiences on June 24th.

The discussions highlighted the fact that Khatlon Region produces over 2 million tons of fruits and vegetables, 100 thousand tons of raw cotton, and 2 million tons of leather annually. However, Russian investment in the region is currently less than 10%.

Davlatali Said also held a meeting with Konstantin Zagainov, Deputy Head of the Department of Industrial Policy and Innovation of the Committee for Economic Development and Investment Activities of Leningrad Region.

Both sides expressed their intention to continue cooperation in trade and economy, science and technology, and socio-cultural spheres during the meetings.
