JLU Celebrates Bhopal Girl’s Gold Medal Win at Deaflympics in Brazil

Jagran Lakecity University (JLU) honored Gauranshi Sharma, a young girl from Bhopal, India, for her remarkable achievement of winning gold in badminton for the Indian team at the Summer Deaflympics in Brazil. The felicitation ceremony, which was attended by JLU students and faculty, was held at the Gurudev Gupta Media Studios located on the JLU campus. Gauranshi, who is hearing and speech impaired, was accompanied by her parents, grandparents, and coach.

A short movie about Gauranshi’s journey to success, which was made by JLU’s faculty of Journalism and Creative Studies, was presented at the event, moving the audience to tears of joy and pride. Gauranshi expressed her gratitude to JLU for the felicitation, and reaffirmed her commitment to work hard and win individual golds.

Vice Chancellor of JLU, Prof. (Dr.) Sandeep Shastri, praised Gauranshi’s accomplishments, and remarked on the power of dedication and focus. He also highlighted the university’s Elite Athlete Program, which supports student-athletes in balancing their academic and sporting commitments. Gauranshi’s story is a source of inspiration to all.
