At the invitation of the Director General of Consumers International, the delegation of the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies of Uzbekistan visited Geneva, Switzerland. On October 19, as part of the visit, the Chairman of the Federation of Consumer Rights Protection Societies of Uzbekistan, Jakhangir Sarimsakov, met with the Director General of Consumers International, Ms. Helena Leurent.
He expressed his gratitude for the leadership of New Uzbekistan’s dedication to the advancement of non-governmental organizations, particularly the public movement for the protection of consumer rights.
Moreover, Ms. Helena Leurent proposed hosting the Second Consumer Forum of Europe and Asia in Bukhara and Samarkand, as well as establishing the headquarters of Consumers International in Tashkent.
The two also discussed other issues related to further developing the public movement to protect consumer rights.
