Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh (ANI/NewsVoir): On Thursday, Grant Thornton India and Jagran Lakecity University (JLU) joined forces to create India’s first Centre for Analytics. The memorandum of understanding was signed in the presence of Pro-Chancellor Abhishek Mohan Gupta, Vice Chancellor Prof (Dr) Sandeep Shastri, Prof Vivek Khare Registrar JLU, Navniit Siingh Chatwal Director JLU, Pradeep Pandey Director Grant Thornton, Kapil Arora Director Grant Thornton, Sarosh Kumar VP Cognizant and Mihir Merchant Chair CII Bhopal. This was followed by a round table discussion about “Data Analytics for Businesses – Transforming Data into Actionable Insights”.
Grant Thornton India is a leading integrated Assurance, Tax, and Advisory firm that provides full advisory and growth solutions to major international companies. JLU, a fast-growing and highly-acclaimed university in Central India, is known for its strong academic and industrial international partnerships. This collaboration between the two entities is sure to open up new opportunities for the youth of India.
The JLU-Grant Thornton Centre for Analytics was created with the aim of educating students to become experts in Business Analytics, as well as to provide the industry with a reliable resource for their Data Analytics needs. It also supports academic programs, specialized training, faculty-based research and development, and entrepreneurial ventures.
In honor of the Center’s inauguration at JLU Bhopal, a RoundTable discussion was organized in partnership with CII Bhopal. The session was attended by CXOs from various industries, JLU academics, Grant Thornton experts, CII member companies, and JLU students. They discussed the challenges that the industry faces with Data Analytics, as well as identifying the gaps that can be filled with the help of academia.
