The Embassy of Tajikistan in Islamabad held a tourism event called “Tajikistan — Pakistan Roadshow” on August 13, 2024. The event was attended by the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan, representatives from the Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, travel agencies from Tajikistan, and 150 representatives from the tourism sector of Pakistan. The Tajik delegation showcased the tourism potential of Tajikistan to the participants.
At the end of the event, all attendees received souvenirs, brochures, and catalogs about tourist destinations in Tajikistan. 10 memorandums of cooperation were also signed with Pakistani tourism companies, inviting them to the Travel Market in Tajikistan in late September 2024.
According to Umedjon Saidzoda, the General Director of Somon Travel LLC, the event provided an opportunity for attendees to learn about tourism opportunities in Tajikistan, Somon Air, and the process of booking air tickets for the Dushanbe – Islamabad route. They also enjoyed impressive videos showcasing the country. Saidzoda expressed pride in Tajikistan’s success in the international tourism arena and highlighted the recent visits and business meetings between Tajikistan and Pakistan’s tourism sector.
The meetings focused on tourism development, joint projects, mutual info tours, joint tours in the region, and organizing courses on hospitality and tourism services. The future of tourism in Tajikistan looks promising.
