At a meeting between the heads of SAMAN and KECC companies of the Republic of Korea and scientists from the Korea Transport Institute, the Committee for Roads discussed a long-term master plan, management instructions, quality control standards for road operation and maintenance, and a road construction program based on public-private partnerships.
The participants agreed that constructing roads through public-private partnerships is essential for the country’s economic growth, the sector’s development, and the creation of amenities for the population.
As part of a $1 million grant project, Uzbekistan will be investigating existing roads, developing instructions for their repair and preservation, and monitoring roads built through public-private partnerships. The parties discussed the mechanisms for implementing the project.
