NIAT Khovar reports that the Sughd region of Tajikistan has observed an increase of 107.5% in industrial production in the first nine months of 2023, amounting to 18.1 billion somoni. This is a marked improvement compared to the same period the previous year.
Notable increases were seen in the production of flour (121.3%), vegetable oil (95.7%), bread and bakery items (85.0%), canned food (123.6%), and soft drinks (131.8%).
The region’s foreign trade turnover for Jan-Sept 2023 was estimated to be $2.4 billion.
