The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev welcomed the Chairman of Qatar Investment Authority, Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani, as part of the state visit to Qatar. The agency is one of the world’s foremost investment holdings, specialized in the development of industries, infrastructure, energy, real estate, and electronic technologies. The head of the Qatar Investment Authority is also the Chairman of the Qatar Central Bank.
The two discussed the potential of attracting direct investment from the agency to build solar and wind stations in the regions of the country, modernize transport infrastructure, and construct modern air terminals. The exchange of experience in developing advanced banking and financial services, including Islamic finance programs, was also discussed.
The parties agreed to hold a meeting of the bilateral group to implement joint projects. UzA
