The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, spoke at a Turkmen-German business forum and extended an invitation to German companies to take part in transport projects in Turkmenistan. Hero-Arkadag pointed out that the country is in the process of constructing new transport hubs and corridors, revamping aviation and port infrastructure, and proposed to hold regular meetings between transport departments, associations, and companies of the two countries.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov suggested that the agenda of the meetings may include topics such as German firms’ involvement in the modernization of Turkmenistan’s transport infrastructure, setting up of service centers in the country, and training of transport specialists. The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty also proposed to explore the possibility of cooperation with the Deutsche Bahn company and developing air transportation between Turkmenistan and Germany, as well as joint management of airports in Turkmenistan.
Hero-Arkadag highlighted the importance of creating a suitable legal framework for the implementation of these projects.
