On Tuesday, GS Retail Co. reported that its third-quarter net profit had jumped 79.1 percent to 71.9 billion won. Operating profit for the quarter was 126.8 billion won, a rise from 87.6 billion won in the same period last year, while sales increased 4.5 percent to 3.09 trillion won.
Unfortunately, the financial results were not as high as analysts had predicted. According to a survey by Yonhap Infomax, the average prediction of net profit was 73.5 billion won.
