Greeting of the Attendees of the International Festival of Handicrafts in Kokand

Participants of the Second International Festival of Handicrafts and the International Pottery Forum were warmly welcomed upon their arrival at Kokand Railway Station. It is expected that representatives from over 70 countries, including esteemed artisans, experts, industry professionals, distinguished guests, and cultural and art figures, will be in attendance at the festival. Moreover, around a thousand craftsmen from all parts of Uzbekistan will showcase their works at the event.

The festival will feature a variety of activities, including a procession of participants, an exhibition and sale of products from both domestic and foreign artisans, a scientific conference on “World practice in preservation and development of traditional crafts”, a fashion show featuring international and Uzbek designer, folk festivals, a book fair “Handicraft of Uzbekistan”, an album presentation, the opening of the International Museum of Crafts, and a tour of the cultural, entertainment, and tourist sites of Fergana.


In accordance with the charter of the International Festival of Handicrafts, contests between domestic and foreign artisans will take place. An international jury of seven people, composed of highly qualified experts, renowned figures of art and culture, scholars, practitioners, and representatives of relevant industries from participating countries, will evaluate the contestants’ work. The winners will be presented with special diplomas and cash prizes.


The international jury will assess the exhibition of products and master classes of the contest participants in five categories: “The best craftsman”, “The youngest craftsman”, “The best master of the craft school”, “The successor of an ancient dynasty”, and “The craftsman who restored the appearance of ancient crafts”. The victors will be given special diplomas and monetary awards.
