Samarkand is hosting the “Reproductive Health in Uzbekistan: Achievements and Plans for the Future” Scientific-Practical Conference. Professionals from all parts of Uzbekistan, as well as leading international experts in obstetrics, gynecology, perinatology, reproductive medicine, and molecular genetic diagnostics from over 10 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Israel, Italy, the United Kingdom, France, China, Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, are attending.
The forum is organized by the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the State Institution “Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology”, and Samarkand Regional Perinatal Center. The Head of the Maternal and Child Health Protection Department of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, Ikrom Amonov, commented that a healthy mother and child are essential for a nation’s prosperity. He further stated that it is necessary to improve the quality of diagnostic services provided in obstetrics, gynecology, and perinatology by introducing new technologies and diagnostic methods into medical practice and equipping medical institutions with the latest equipment.
At the conference, scientists from different countries are discussing innovations and experiences in domestic and international reproductive medicine, obstetrics, gynecology, and perinatology. Over 100 reports are included in the program, such as effective protection of motherhood and childhood, modern approaches to managing pregnancy in women with somatic diseases, critical situations in obstetrics, and the importance of interdisciplinary communication. Two cooperation agreements were also signed between the Republican Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal State Budgetary Institution “National Medical Research Center named after V.A. Almazov” and the State Educational Institution “Institute of Postgraduate Education in Healthcare of the Republic of Tajikistan”.
