SEOUL, Oct. 9 (Yonhap) — South Korea’s finance minister is set to embark on a trip to Morocco this week to attend the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank annual gatherings, as well as the Group of 20 (G20) meeting of finance ministers and central bank chiefs, the Ministry of Economy and Finance announced on Monday.
On Wednesday, Choo Kyung-ho will join a roundtable on the global supply chain and Ukraine-related issues, providing details on how South Korea can contribute to the reconstruction of the war-torn nation. The following day, he will take part in a World Bank meeting to discuss the organization’s new missions, including promoting the provision of global public goods.
The finance minister will also be part of the G20 talks on financial stability and other economy-related topics on Friday. During his visit, Choo also plans to meet officials from Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Ghana to solicit their support for South Korea’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo in Busan.
Choo is scheduled to return home on Friday.
