On Thursday, the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission of South Korea provided the official green light for the Shin-Hanul No. 2 reactor in Uljin county to enter commercial operation.
The reactor, which has a power generation capacity of 1,400 megawatts and utilizes the APR1400 technology, was completed in April last year. After six months of testing, the reactor will be loaded with fuel and become operational.
