The First Vice-President of Uzbekistan Football Association Ravshan Irmatov opened a workshop of Central Asia and Europe national football associations, hosted by Tashkent and sponsored by FIFA. Representatives from Uzbekistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Czech Republic, Kazakhstan, Austria, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Portugal, Hungary, as well as specialists from FIFA, UEFA, AFC, and CAFA were in attendance.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan has launched several resolutions to further boost the popularity of football, discover potential and talented players, and create a professional training system. As a result, the number of national teams has increased from 8 to 19 and the number of coaches working with them has grown fivefold. Additionally, the relationship between Uzbekistan and FIFA has achieved a higher level, which enabled Uzbekistan to be granted the rights to host the Futsal World Cup in 2024 for the first time ever.
At the event, participants are expected to discuss matters such as organizing international competitions and events in futsal, women’s and children’s football at a high level, refining football infrastructure and financial investments, and exchanging knowledge and experience.
