The 8th meeting of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance was held in Moscow, and was attended by the Ombudsman of Uzbekistan, Feruza Eshmatova. The purpose of the event was to discuss ways of protecting human rights in the healthcare sector. This is an important topic, as quality medical care can be life-saving, while inadequate care can have serious repercussions. To ensure individuals’ rights in this regard, the involvement of ombudsmen is essential. The participants of the meeting, which aimed to share experiences and study successful approaches to ensure human rights in the healthcare sector, were representatives from Armenia, Iran, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Serbia, Russia, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Mali, Malawi. It was decided to hold joint events to increase citizens’ legal awareness in healthcare and medical care. Furthermore, the National Institute for Human Rights of the Kingdom of Bahrain was accepted as a permanent member of the Alliance. Norgul Abduraimova, UzA
