Ergash Soliyev, the Hokim of Jizzakh region, welcomed a delegation led by Ms. Zhang Xiaomei, the Director-General of the Foreign Affairs Office of Hubei Provincial People’s Government of the People’s Republic of China. Soliyev outlined the economic, social, and investment prospects of the region and the projects being conducted there.
In May this year, a delegation from Jizzakh region had visited China. The quality of cooperation between Jizzakh and Hubei province was noted to be increasing. A Trade and Economic Cooperation Protocol between Jizzakh region and Shandong province was signed to promote mutual beneficial trade and economic cooperation, joint projects, and business networking.
Currently, there are forty Uzbekistan–China enterprises in Jizzakh region. One of them manufactures cars under the brand of Chery Automobile and electric vehicles under the BYD brand.
Ms. Zhang Xiaomei expressed her appreciation for the collaboration between the two countries and proposed new projects to be implemented between Jizzakh region and Hubei province. Soliyev informed the delegation about the activities of Jizzakh Regional Branch of IT Park, the Presidential School in Jizzakh, Sambhram University, the Regional Central Library named after Sharaf Rashidov, and the confectionery production enterprise Iruskon.
