On June 16, the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, examined the planned construction and public transport development projects for Tashkent. Thanks to the increasing investment attractiveness in recent years, the city’s urban development has accelerated significantly. This includes the construction of high-rise buildings, hotels, business centers, cultural and sports complexes, as well as the development of New Tashkent, which will form a modern metropolis alongside the existing city. Quality and reliability are top priorities for these large-scale and long-term projects. To address these issues, a meeting was held on May 13, chaired by the President, where he emphasized the importance of using a scientific approach and implementing modern standards in the construction industry. At the presentation, progress updates were provided, including reassessments of the safety requirements for new high-rise buildings. Scientific and technical conclusions were obtained from various organizations, and new buildings are now required to withstand seismic activity of at least nine on the Richter scale. In addition, a new substation and water reservoir are planned for construction in the Chilanzar district to ensure stable energy and water supply for the growing number of high-rise buildings and new complexes. Tashkent is also becoming a popular destination for business events and exhibitions, and a new complex with meeting rooms is being constructed to accommodate these international conferences. The city’s public transportation system is also continuously expanding, with plans to extend the metro line to the Tashkent Tractor Plant and the new administrative center of New Tashkent. The President gave instructions to improve construction quality, promote a culture of excellence, and prioritize convenience for the population.
