Khayrullo Bozorov, the Hokim of Fergana region, met with representatives from China’s CAMC Engineering, headed by Vice President Liu Shengcheng. The two parties discussed plans for the Chinese company to construct a solar photovoltaic station in Fergana region, as well as the pumping of clean drinking water from the Kempir-Abad reservoir to Fergana. Additionally, they discussed the design, construction, and major reconstruction of social facilities, such as schools and medical institutions, as well as a 25-floor residential complex in the Eco-City.

Vice President Liu Shengcheng remarked on the high rates of economic development in Uzbekistan due to the recent reforms, noting that the country has great potential for foreign investors. He stated that CAMC Engineering is planning to implement projects in Fergana region.

Regional Hokim Khayrullo Bozorov spoke of the 500 MW solar photovoltaic plant with a project cost of $300 million, which the company intends to build in Beshariq district. To prevent a decrease in night-time electricity supply, he suggested that the project should include an electrical energy storage station, and that the Chinese experience in this area should be explored.

The parties agreed to hold a discussion meeting the following month, during the visit of the head of the Export-Import Bank of China to Uzbekistan, to discuss the conditions for financing these projects. CAMC Engineering, which is currently implementing the Olympic Village project in Tashkent, will also construct a 25-floor residential complex in the Eco-City. Furthermore, the construction of a new town in Kokand was also discussed.
