President Xi Jinping of the People’s Republic of China declared at the Third Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation that China is dedicated to helping all developing countries achieve modernization. He emphasized that global progress should be pursued to promote peaceful growth and mutually beneficial collaboration, bringing prosperity to all.
“China is willing to work with all parties involved to advance the Belt and Road partnerships of cooperation, take it to the next level of high-quality development, and strive to make modernization a reality for all countries,” said Xi Jinping.
In the upcoming five years, China’s total trade in goods and services is expected to surpass USD 32 trillion. Moreover, China has become the primary trading partner of more than 140 countries and territories, and the prime source of investment for many nations.
To support this mission, the Chinese President further announced that the Silk Road Fund will receive an additional RMB 80 billion (approximately $10.9 billion). He pointed out that Belt and Road cooperation has moved from “sketching the outline” to “filling in the details”, and plans are now being implemented into real projects.
