The official launch of the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets and the Carpet Weaving Center “SD TURKMEN HALY” was celebrated in Bukhara as part of Turkmenistan Culture Days. The event was attended by the Regional Hokim Botir Zaripov, members of the Turkmenistan delegation, carpet weaving artisans, representatives of Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan cultural centers, the public, friendship societies, and media personnel.
At the opening ceremony, held at the citizens’ assembly of the “Istiqlol” mahalla in Bukhara, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place, signifying the start of the National Museum of Turkmen Carpets and the Carpet Weaving Center.
The attendees were able to explore the museum’s collection, which included items related to the history of Turkmen carpet weaving, carpets of various colors and types, and carpet weaving instructions. Additionally, there were several sources of information about Turkmen culture. It was mentioned that this place would become a popular destination for tourists visiting Bukhara.
The delegation also visited the Carpet Weaving Center. A cultural event was held.
