Uzbekistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bakhtiyor Saidov, has attended an extraordinary meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) while in New York City. Saidov’s telegram channel reported that the gathering was part of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Representatives from Belarus, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Pakistan, Russia, and Tajikistan were present.
At the meeting, the SCO’s leading role in resolving regional issues was highlighted, and the modernization of the SCO based on the decisions of the Heads of State at the Samarkand Summit was discussed. Additionally, the prospects for cooperation with the United Nations were explored.
