The Fozilmon Ota, a hallowed area of worship, is one of the sights of Khanabad, a picturesque city that is turning into a tourist hotspot in the Fergana Valley.
It is a venerable place of veneration located in the mahalla of Fozilmon in Khanabad of Andijan, in the far southeastern corner of the region bordering Kyrgyzstan. There is a fountain with healing powers.
Residents of Andijan and people from all over the country come here to drink the healing waters. This water gives them strength and energy and helps to cure ailments of the internal organs and skin.
According to legend, Sayid Fozilmon Dehlavi (13th century), a religious figure and descendant of a prophet, lived near this fountain. He encouraged people to be righteous, just and enlightened and became a saint through his actions. After his death, he was buried in this area.
At the end of the 16th century, an avalanche destroyed the mausoleum of Fozilmon Ota. In 1805, Khujamnazar Kholmuhammad ugli Khuvaydo Kholmuhammad Eshon ibn Khuvaydo identified the burial site of the saint and initiated the restoration of the mausoleum.
Recently, the mausoleum and the place of worship of Fozilmon Ota have been restored in the traditional style, and all the facilities for a pleasant stay of visitors have been provided. Every year, thousands of pilgrims visit this place, especially during the summer months.
