AKIPRESS.COM – The landscape of Batken is currently filled with the beautiful sight of apricot trees blooming in mass. According to locals, the apricot orchards resemble a sea of white clouds. Some even compare the blooming of apricots to the famous cherry blossoms in Japan.
Experts estimate that there are approximately 10,000 hectares of apricot orchards in Batken region. Local orchardists grow around 10 different varieties of apricots. While some orchards began blooming in February, a decrease in temperature caused damage to some of the orchards.
There are currently no predictions for this year’s apricot harvest.
