The Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan recently hosted an event entitled “Homeland on Maps”, organized in honor of the 100th Anniversary of the Turkish Republic and the 32nd Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan. As part of the exhibition, a fashion show “Uzbek and Turkish motifs in outfits” was held, featuring costumes selected from the personal collection of a designer from Samarkand Hamida Inoyatova. The exhibition also showcased maps of the Turkestan region, most of which were compiled by famous geographers and are stored in the collections of the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
The fashion show and exhibition were dedicated to the friendship of the two states, bound by centuries-old ties of brotherhood. The originals of these maps were donated to the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in Samarkand.
