Today, a spectacular show was held at the Mukams Palace of the State Cultural Centre to celebrate the 32nd anniversary of the country’s independence. Masters of the stage, young pop singers, renowned folklore and dance groups, the State Choir, and children’s creative teams all took part in the grand celebration.
Under the majestic arches of the Mukams Palace, the high spiritual atmosphere and emotional mood created an even greater sense of pride among the Turkmen people for the prosperous era of their sovereign Motherland. The day before, the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan held a meeting in the capital, making decisions that open up opportunities for the country’s advancing progress towards new horizons.
As is customary, no festive event in our country is complete without performances by artists, singers, musicians, and folklore groups, adding vibrancy to important events in the life of the Turkmen state. Today, to honour the sacred independence of Turkmenistan, the living heritage of national culture – the tradition of greeting the nation with inspired songs and music – was continued on the stage of the Mukams Palace, in the vast hall of which numerous spectators gathered.
Among them were members of the Government, heads of the Mejlis, military and law enforcement agencies, public organizations, heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, honourary elders, representatives of ministries and departments, scientific and creative intelligentsia, universities and the media, and students. Among the distinguished guests were our compatriots from abroad – participants in the XXIV Conference of the Humanitarian Association of Turkmens of the World, as well as numerous foreign guests who arrived in Ashgabat for the festive celebrations.
The concert program was distinguished by its various genres and premiere numbers, showcasing the abundant potential and continuity of the traditions of national art.
Popular creative groups of the country, renowned folk singers, opera singers, and rising stars of the Turkmen stage – winners of creative shows held as part of the competition for the President of Turkmenistan «Türkmeniň Altyn asyry» award, famous dance ensembles and folklore groups all demonstrated their skills.
For the artists, taking part in the State Concert on such a momentous day was the highest recognition of their abilities. The warmth of their hearts, sincerity, and talent that they shared with the audience was well-received, and the use of modern audiovisual technologies added extra brilliance to the festive event.
The performances of folklore groups, as well as folklore and dance groups from all velayats, who performed kushtdepdi – an ancient dance full of creative energy, symbolically emphasised the unbreakable spiritual connection between generations – gave a special flavour to the concert program.
The powerful final chord of the celebration was the song «Gutly bolsun garaşsyzlyk baýramy!» performed by all participants in the festive action.
The audience greeted this song with a standing ovation, which highlighted the immense pride of the people in their beloved Fatherland, progressing along the path of peace, progress, and creation.
