President Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid a visit to the comprehensive cardiology center in Shakhrisabz city.

Enhancing public health is a top priority of Uzbekistan’s social policy. The country is undertaking comprehensive reforms in this field, including modernizing public healthcare institutions, attracting investments, and promoting private sector growth. In Kashkadarya region alone, there are over 700 private clinics offering 72 different medical services.

One of the newest additions to this sector is the “Oq Saroy” clinic, which was recently established in collaboration with a Russian investor. The clinic boasts four operating rooms, six intensive care units, and more than 100 inpatient beds. It has the capacity to perform up to four cardiac surgeries simultaneously and up to 25 procedures per day. The clinic has recruited experienced specialists from Russia, Turkey, and Kuwait and offers complex procedures such as stenting, coronary artery bypass surgery, correction of congenital disabilities, and endoprosthetics.

The center also provides advanced diagnostic services, including the use of artificial intelligence in its state-of-the-art echocardiography unit – the only one of its kind in the country.

The President highlighted that clinics like this not only elevate treatment standards but also transform the overall perception of healthcare quality, inspiring other institutions to strive for similar advancements.

“We must use this experience as a model and establish similar clinics in at least 14 regions. The cost is not the main concern – we will find the necessary resources. What matters most is ensuring high-quality and accessible healthcare for our people. Without competition and alternatives, there can be no drive for quality,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated.

The Head of State instructed relevant officials to prepare proposals for replicating this model by integrating the operations of such clinics with primary healthcare systems and medical insurance frameworks.

The clinic has created 130 jobs and established a clinical residency program, providing opportunities for training qualified medical professionals.

The President also emphasized the importance of enhancing the skills of students and physicians and advancing telemedicine through collaboration with international experts.

It is worth noting that Kashkadarya region has a high prevalence of cardiovascular diseases, mainly due to dietary imbalances. The new cardiology center and its diagnostic unit play a crucial role in early detection and effective treatment of such conditions.

In addition, the facility is equipped with mobile diagnostic units that travel to remote areas to provide on-site services such as ultrasound, CT scans, ECGs, and other types of medical care.
