The 19th Meeting of the Advisory Council of the Heads of Archival Services of the CIS countries was recently held at the “Silk Road” International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage. It was attended by the heads of archival affairs from the member states of the Advisory Council, specialists, scientists, public activists, and youth. The goal of the Advisory Council, which meets every two years, is to share experience in archival affairs and the ordering of electronic archival documents, as stated by Deputy Director of Uzarchive Agency Sherzod Sodiqov. This gathering gives the opportunity to take part in international conferences that tackle archival and administrative issues, upgrade the quality of work to the level of international requirements and standards, locate archival documents outside the country and return their originals or electronic copies, and optimize processes. As a result, the number of countries that want to join the activities of the Council as observers is rising. Representatives from Türkiye, China, and Hungary were present at the council meeting.
An international scientific-practical conference “Archives and electronic documents – the call of the time” was held during the forum. More than 40 foreign experts attended the event, and they delivered reports about collecting, accounting, storing, and using archival documents. The album book published by “Uzbekistan” publishing house in honor of the 80th anniversary of the National Archive of Film and Photo Documents of Uzbekistan and the documentary film “Eternal Moments” directed by Ali Khamrayev were also presented at the event.
