China’s Financial Input in Tajikistan Reaches $3.34 Billion

DUSHANBE, 17.11.2023 (NIAT Khovar) – Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan Farhod Vosidiyon took part in the 7th Silk Road International Exposition on November 16 in the Chinese city of Xi’an.

It was highlighted that in recent years, the relationship between Tajikistan and China has grown significantly.

“From 2007 through 2023, Chinese investment in Tajikistan totaled $3.34 billion. Of this, $1.2 billion is direct investment. At present, more than 580 companies are running in Tajikistan with Chinese investment,” said Vosidiyon.

Particular emphasis was placed on the development of interregional cooperation and the export of agricultural products from Tajikistan to Shaanxi province, including lemons, fresh and dry apricots, melons, grapes, persimmons, walnuts and pomegranates.
