On Sunday, officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs reported that more than 84% of the 4.07 million cattle in South Korea have been immunized against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD). This infectious disease, which does not affect humans, can lead to death in cows. So far, 78 cases of LSD have been confirmed in the country, with one new case reported on Saturday.

The government has stated that they aim to vaccinate all cattle by the end of the week. South Korea’s first case of LSD was reported on October 20th and it causes skin lesions, fever, and a decrease in appetite, which can often result in death.
