On November 2, the city of Dushanbe hosted a Forum on Entrepreneurship, Trade and Economic Cooperation between Tajikistan and China. Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan Usmonali Usmonzoda and member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, First Secretary of the Party Committee of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Ma Xingrui were in attendance. Representatives of various industries, such as industry, energy, and agriculture, were present at the forum.
The purpose of the event was to foster closer ties between the two countries’ businesses. After the forum, a number of documents were signed between universities from both countries. It was reported that the total value of foreign trade between Tajikistan and China for the first nine months of 2023 was $1,065 million, which is 10.4 percent higher than the same period in 2022. China makes up 20.7 percent of Tajikistan’s foreign trade, making it the second largest partner.
