SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Yonhap) — In response to a video posted on the internet showing a worker at a Tsingtao brewery urinating into a vat of raw materials, BK Co., the South Korean importer of the Chinese beer, declared Friday that it will launch a comprehensive hygiene review of all products yet to be distributed.

The incident has caused a stir in South Korea, reviving concerns about the safety of Chinese-made food.

BK Co. declared that it will commission an agency associated with the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to conduct the inspection and will also conduct an on-site inspection of the Tsingtao factory in question, with results to be made public.

“We are experiencing immense difficulty as a result of this case, however, all of the company’s employees and executives are putting forth their utmost effort into providing safe products to our customers,” BK Co. stated in an official statement.
