SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Yonhap) — Naver Corp. announced on Friday that its third-quarter net income had increased to 356.2 billion won (US$265.2 million), a jump of 53.8 percent from the same period in the previous year.
The company revealed in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the quarter totaled 380.2 billion won, compared to 330.2 billion won in the year prior. Revenue was also up 18.9 percent to 2.44 trillion won.
The profits exceeded industry expectations. A survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data arm of Yonhap News Agency, had the average net profit prediction at 286.2 billion won.
