Kia Corp., South Korea’s second-largest vehicle manufacturer, announced on Wednesday that its sales had increased by 7.7% in October compared to the same period last year. This rise in sales was attributed to the strong demand for its SUV models, such as the Sportage, Sorento, and Seltos.
The company sold 257,709 vehicles in October, up from 239,371 units in 2019. Domestic sales increased slightly by 0.4% to 42,960 units, while overseas sales rose by 9.2% to 214,139 from 196,173.
From January to October, sales had grown by 8.3% to 2,611,938 vehicles from 2,410,909 in the same period of 2019. Domestic sales rose 7.3% to 468,835 units, while overseas sales increased 8.5% to 2,138,508 from 1,971,310.
