Activities like these not only help to raise awareness regarding the importance of safety measures, but also provide a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience to raise safety standards.”
The event featured clinical discussions about infusion safety, the role of a multi-dimensional approach in infection prevention, bundle care, and advanced technology. There was also a panel discussion about infusion safety and its impact on patient and healthcare worker safety, with nursing leaders from Noble Hospital, Sancheti Hospital, Joshi Hospital, Ruby Hall Clinic, Manipal Hospital, Baner and Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital. The panel identified staff attrition as the biggest challenge in the adoption of safety guidelines and practices.
As they took the pledge with the safety flame in hand, BD India committed to taking this flame to various hospitals to promote safety culture by strengthening protocols, practices, and safety technologies.
The use of intravascular catheters is common in hospitals for medication administration, hemodynamic monitoring, renal replacement therapy, and nutritional support. However, this can lead to costly bloodstream infections. Safety technology can reduce the risk of infections, injuries, and deaths in the workplace. To ensure a secure environment for healthcare professionals and to achieve better patient outcomes, it is essential to develop a safety culture by following updated guidelines and safety practices with newer safety technologies.
BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world and is dedicated to advancing the world of health by improving medical discovery, diagnostics, and the delivery of care. BD helps customers enhance outcomes, lower costs, increase efficiencies, improve safety, and expand access to health care.
