The President of Uzbekistan has initiated a major tree-planting campaign under the “Yashil Makon” (Green Space) project. During a visit to the Oqtepa and Bogzor mahallas of Chilanzar district in Tashkent, the President planted seedlings together with the local people.
The President’s effort to increase green areas has become a significant movement. This season, it is planned to plant 85 million seedlings, and the Forestry Agency will provide 200 seedlings to each mahalla at no cost. In addition, seedling fairs will be held in all districts and mahallas from October 15.
During a discussion with the mahalla residents, the President reviewed the preparations for the autumn/winter season and gave new instructions. He also encouraged the public to demonstrate energy-saving practices and help the state in this matter. The local representatives expressed their appreciation for the preparations and promised to conserve heat in their homes and institutions.
